Alley mural

This is large 2 story mural that was painted in a downtown alley. This is just one of  the murals.

Upside down and right side up

Again playing with the effects of water refraction. These were taken at the Depot with water in the wine glass. The four wine glasses were also taken on the Plaza either looking towards the Depot or the other way towards the Wrangler.

Daffodils

These are daffodils that are at the Botanical Gardens.

On on the sorry state of the other desktop, it was DOA  when I took it into the Computer Services. They are in the process of recovering the files onto a external hard drive.

Wildlife in the campground

Here are two of about 10+ deer that were grazing in Two Moon's campground at Glendo.

Mother's Day treasures

These are photos taken on Mother's Day. Above, my daughter Kara, her husband Slade, and granddaughters Kelsie, Bailey, and Brooke. Lower picture is my son Kent.

On a less happy note, my desktop computer refuses to start up, so into the fix it shop today. Hopefully it isn't totally dead but it is at least 10 years old. This laptop is also not working smothly and should also be worked on. Shish, technology that I love hate.

Monster in the vase

I was not impressed with the two lower photos and moved the imaged into elements and in playing around found a monster.

This is what the two above photos started from. Refracted color reversals in water.

Pretty little flower

I reached back into my file of ready to post photos and this is a flower from the Botanical Gardens earlier in the year.

"Half Pound" (small camera) is currently out of commission because I can not charge the battery. The cord that I use is not working so B & H Video Photo in New York is sending me a external battery charger. I miss Half Pound and Big Bertha (3 pounds) camera is too heavy to carry on my regular walks.

Funky plant

This was on the trail up at Glendo. I think it is a mullein  and, it was very large and had grown in a unique way.

Left over water drop

Here is a water drop that was done with the others that I posted. This had a green back drop instead of the blue and drop has disappeared into the water.

Count the wires and appreciate the electricity

Electricity. I totally appreciate it and try to not take it for granted. When dry camping and I am not plugged into the big "E" I really miss it. Last week at Glendo State Park I was able to camp in a spot with electricity since the forcast was for 30 degrees and possible snow. Luckily we did not get snowed on. These are power poles from the Glendo Power Plant Dam with the water release that is just below the hill. Notice all the squares, triangles and rectangles from the lines crisscrossing.

More patterns.

Fun with a tulip

Here is a tulip that is in focus, next out of focus and fun with elements filter for the last one.

This above one was almost a delete, but saved it from the trash bin.

Laramie Peak

Laramie Peak in the clouds. Laramie Peak through a water glass. As I said in yesterdays post, location, location location to make this work and this wasn't it.

Sunset at Glendo

After days of overcast, rainy, windy weather the sun finally came out. With this photo I was attempting to get a good reflection to reverse the scenery and flip the glass. One challenge is finding the scenery (this one didn't) that will work and the other is crawling on the ground and attempting to focus. This technique that I am still working on.

Growing rocks

These were taken with my macro lens and the top one was close to a mushroom or would have missed it. The tallest one was maybe 1/2 inch tall and is possibly a Trumpet Cladonia. The one below is a lichen. It was nice to see how small I could get with the lens, but ended up lying on the ground to do it.

Goat without a name

This is a one month old goat that Carol brought with her since she has to feed her twice a day. She raises goats and has 15. This kids mother had 3 babies but could only had enough milk for 2. Surprisingly big for one month. You can feel the bumps on her head for the future horns. Carol doesn't name her goats as they are sold later.

When ever camping, it is always a struggle to see which technology actually works in the great places I camp. The Jet Pack/internet is fine. the iphone temporal. (okay it's an Iphone) small radios, MIA. But the Iphone is getting Iheart radio but drops off sometime to buffer. Listening to AM 600, Ft Collins. George is getting one station on tv but I have not tired. Wonder how many gigabytes to watch Netflix on my computer? Too much I am sure.

Chrystal

This is the rock that I bought at the Rock and Gem show on Saturday. It is very small, about 2 inches.

Natures spirals

Yesterday Kent and I went out to the Rock and Gem show here in town. They had lots of great rocks, minerals, and fossils. Here are a couple of Ammonites that were for sale. I cleaned up the two corners in elements with a filter.

Posting may get interesting next week since I am finally getting out of town in Bali (my motorhome) to go camping with the Cheyenne singles group. We are going to Glendo and the weatherman is forecasting rain and cold. I did get a Jet Pack for the laptop, so internet is not just from a smart phone. And my angels were looking out for me and I managed to get a BIG E (electric) spot.

Water splashes

These are a couple of the water splashes that I did earlier. The top one is the second attempt and used the heavy glass crystal which really hit hard and was happy that both survived.  The first one was move to the sunroom window and I used natural light.  The lower one is from the first time using a light behind the screen which created the circle. The back screen was also too close and the splashing water on it created a problem.

Spoon reflections: squares, polka dots and crystal

Here is the shinny new spoon from Wal Mart reflecting squares, polka dots and a crystal. Getting the focus sharp is a challenge for me with the lack of letting the camera do it, which does not work for macros. Still no beach sand to put the spoon handle in, so used a Styrofoam ball.

From flowers to fruit. This is a close up of that great tasting kiwi.

All of the daisys

And here is the bouquet that I used for the two previous posts.

This wayward peddle on the daisy refuses to lay the way of the other peddles.

Daises in a spoon

This one is a little strange. It is the reflection of daises in a spoon. Had to buy the spoon at Walmart to get one without scratches.  And you are asking "why?"... just winter insanity.

Flowers

From the "file". These were taken inside the botanical Gardens earlier this year when the weather was awful. Today the weater is not much better since it is foggy ( I am not going out), rainy and chilly.

Strawberry

This is from messing around with dropping items in water glasses for a splash. Dropped in a couple of strawberries but they were not heavy enough to make a slash.

Chrystal vase

Here is a vase that water in it to refract the black and white.

Poppie again

Here's another photo of those poppies from the Botanical Gardens.

Sleeping geese

Geese hanging out at the edge of the ice. They tuck their beak on their feathers, but will eye ball you if you hang there too long. This was taken earlier in the year when there was ice at Lions Park.

Seed pod

This was a rescue from a shoot that I did last fall. Wind was blowing hard so I picked the pod and tossed in the back of my car. Surprisingly it survived and I planted it in a vase. No wind and it has survived the winter. The photo is from this spring when I put it in front of a black mat board.
