Sunseet peace

This is a bench in the park which is surrounded by trees and shade with the setting sun peaking through.

Rose garden

The roses at the Botanical Gardens Rose Garden ar in full bloom. And through the trees, you can see the construction for the expansion. Below is the water fountain with rose peddles that have blown in, or maybe a child added them.

Looking the other way is another bench and one of the arches.

Chrystals, rocks and paperweight

These are crystals, an amethyst and my paperweight from Zion gift shop. The amethyst I photographed early in the blog. Did these Sunday since I didn't get to Snowy Range with possible smoke issues from the Beaver Creek fire. Why are the two in the middle not clear? Hmm, The top one I had a red light off to the side, but with the bottom ones it was off. Sometimes I just get interesting, unintended results.

With the one below I have moved into Elements and stretched the back ground to make it interesting.

Microsoft has gone backwards with the new operating system with file management. They want to dictate where they go, and no option to make the thump nail larger so I an SEE it.

Tear drop chrystal

Here are three different views of a glass chrystal that is about an inch high. When I  held it up to look in the center the facets were beautiful-- but I didn't capture them like I wanted to in the top image. All were taken with the macro lens.

Frontier Park rodeo and carnival grounds

Another bike ride find. They are building frontier store front replicas store just in side the gate to the carnival and rodeo entrance. These are similar to the ones on the outside of the stands.

Never 10 - my Old moto- BUT

On my two old computers, I had downloaded the app Never 10. That was fine until the desktop died and the laptop is extremely temperamental. This is the new laptop....ouch and it has Windows 10 that I am struggling with! Duh on downloading DVDs with no sound, no twirling circle, or status bar.  If you switch I would suggest a bottle of wine and a large glass to drink it from.

Golf coarse visiter

While riding my bike around the golf course perimeter, I noticed this antelope just over the fence. He quickly moved further away and stopped to look at me.

Blue flowers on a spoon

This is another attempt of reflections in the spoon with my contortions on the ground and attempting to keep my reflection out of the image. The lower dark spot is my camera bag that I was using to stabilize the heavy camera. The upper dark spot is a large rock.

Spring yellow

Here are some more yellow flowers, these are from the Spring crop at the Botanic Gardens.

Spoon again and yellow flowers

Here is my shiny Wal Mart spoon with a reflection. This time with help from Kent to keep it up right. I have decided this technique is for younger, more agile photographers with the on the ground contortions I have to go through.

Lots of this yellow flower were blooming.

White flowers

These are not as striking as the purple flower from yesterday and surviving in the wild. They are very small and about the size of a quarter.

Excape to Vedauwoo

Kent and I went up to Vedauwoo for the weekend, Beautiful flowers, fun with my macro lens and cooler than Cheyenne.

Here is Kent - blending in with the yellow flowers with his chartreuse top, shorts and shoes. He really likes that color. Hmm.

Found a yellow jacket on the yellow flower.

Another yellow flower and OH, close up of the bark on a tree. Yip, had fun with the macro.

This the the beaver pond that was below the camp site. Looks like it drained in the last week. No fishing there. Water almost gone, mosquitoes still hanging around.

And what we didn't find,.. internet which was okay.

Alley interesting

I am back from the Colorado Springs trip and overwhelmed with to do list. These are alley stuff that I found interesting.

With the summer here and not stuck in the house I am beginning to find the post a photo a day labor intensive.

Garden of the Gods again

Here are some more from the Garden of the Gods. The lower photo is kissing camels. If I have duplicated any, I will fix when I get back to electricity. Keeping everything charged has been a challenge here.

This was taken on the hike that we did.

Garden of the Gods

Here are two more shots from the Garden of the Gods trip. Again hiking sometimes gives you the best shots as with the top photo. The bottom one is from the center easy sidewalk.

Where's the bridge?

This was an attempt to get the Royal Gorge Bridge in the flipped wine glass and tack sharp. Didn't happen. Can't find the bridge in the wine glass that is showing on the side of the two images. Used another trash can to set the glass on, but did not have my big camera, tripod, and macro lens.

Pikes Peak

Pikes Peak through the window at Siamese Twins. Garden of the Gods is beautiful and was very hot on the day that I was there.

Alley poppie and Fountain camping spot

Every summer these poppies blom in my alley. Always a treat.  Below is the camping spot with the WINs at the American Legion in Fountain, CO- not as pretty as some but close to Colorado Springs and price is right.   Off to Garden of the Gods today.

Fun piano player

Ragtime! Great piano player that nailed his piano to the floor of his trailer and will be playing it each Sunday down at the Depot. On the lower photo I kept waiting for the lady to leave but she was a talker so took the picture anyway since it shows his set up.

Rock N V trail

Here is another view from the Curt Gowdy Trail with storm clouds in the distance. Along the way- a couple of vultures.
