Parrot
This parrot is another bird from the Bath Nursery event. Unlike the outside birds, this one didn't take flight. When people ask me what I like to shoot, I say mountains, or landscapes since they stay put.

Breaking the rule with horse tails
These beautiful horses were in the park waiting for their owner to harness them to pull a wagon in the Christmas Parade. One of the "rules" in photography is don't shoot butt shots, but get the twinkle in the animals eye. Well leave it to a photography judge in a show when he awarded 1st place to a group of geese on a frozen lake all facing away from the photographer and wind.
We had another nice, non wind day and I manage to get more miles on my bike and found these in Frontier Park. This was about 2:30 and the Parade started at 5:30.
First horse getting his harness and below two of the 4 almost done. Watching the process I realized that it a a very intricate process. There is another cowboy between the 1st and 2nd horse.

Locked in bear
This is a safe bear - he's locked in and oh, he's wooden. Not fond of bears since one rocked my rig, and broke a table in the middle of the night. Here are two views of the gate at the Indian Village in Frontier Park, Cheyenne.

Snowmen all in a row
It's official, Christmas season has started. Or maybe you thought it started early last fall when the Christmas decorations started showing up in the stores. I saw these cute snowmen at Kohl's while picking up ONE gift, one store, on Black Friday. Couldn't handle shopping any longer. But the $50 that I saved was worth the 25 minute line waiting for check out.

Leaf waiting for the next wind gust
A aspen leaf that was caught by the pine tree on it's was down to the ground. This leaf has seen better days.

Road to Silver Jack
This was taken along the road to Silver Jack Reservoir which was a beautiful drive. And again the sky was not cooperating for photography. This is south west of Blue Mesa and South east of Montrose CO.

The two gossips
Or maybe one is a democrat and one is a republican arguing over the state of the country. Okay, now you can laugh and these two birds were also taken at the Bath Nursery a couple of years ago.

Snow
Our second snowfall of the season is happening. We had a great, warm fall but looks like we are now into more realistic weather.
This was not taken this fall, but in August a couple of years ago while camping with Chuck and Fern White in Snowy Range mountains.

Real letters
These were a "find" from my ongoing de-cluttering project. These were actual letters that were tossed in a trunk along with special event cards. I found lots of letters from my daughter from 1988 and on. As technology with computers evolved the communication switched to emails and now a lot of texts. I found no texts in the trunk. We have lost the art of letter writing and these were so much fun to re read after almost 20 years. Most cards were tossed, but saved the letters for another re-read.

Beautiful red door
Mystery door tucked around the corner? This unique door and archway was constructed in 1886 and is beautiful architecture that has lasted. Some of our more recent buildings are plain and streamlined and some get torn down and replaced long before they are 100 years. old. I have posted photos from this location a couple of times.

Chocolate and wine
Good combination to end a trying day. The gold ones are the best- white chocolate. The blue ones, dark chocolate- that's why there are more of them then the gold.

Too Lock Your Pockets
The actual name is Tlaquepaque shopping center in Sedona, but I heard the residents called it "to lock your pockets". And you can find some mighty nice things to buy. I would get there early before the shops opened to get photos with out people-easy parking for my motorhome also. Typical architecture with the repeating arches on the above photo.
Just stairs but I thought they were interesting with the wall that was also stair stepped and another rounded door.
Stairway with tiled steps. And below, one shop had shells and beads outside their shop in baskets.

Crested Butte bike
Today I am posting a photo from a "happy" location. This is a house that was sided with license plates and is now a coffee shop. There is usually a bike parked next to the building in this biking town. I have been to Crested Butte 3 times and enjoyed it each time.
Today is cold and overcast which is unusual, but we are expecting our first snow. Surprise that it is so late in the season and have totally enjoyed the nice biking weather.
Today when I signed into this blog I got a notice about cookies you may have to deal with....What cookies- I do not advertise, I do not get and cash from anyone looking at the blog. It's just one of there administration things. And cookies and those irritating pop ups from other sites- grrr. I run the CCleaner a lot to clear it all out.
Also, again, locked out of Iphone because of an update. Also hate those. It's 3 years old and not broke so I keep it and I didn't stomp on it or toss it across the room last night at 11:30 p.m. Oh fun, I will call tech soon.

Reflected flowers
Here is my shinny spoon again. This one was taken about a month ago at the park. These reflections are always a challenge to get down on the ground and close enough with the macro lens and keep my image out of it. We are expecting our first snow tomorrow, which has held off for a couple of months!

Rusty wheels
I am stuck in posting old stuff. This piece of rust farm equipment was at Fruita in Capitol Reef National Park.

Rusty hook
Okay, it's not too rusty, just a little bit. This is the hook on the wagon that was posted previously.

Old fashioned pick up truck
How pioneers used to move stuff, like our current pick up trucks, but you needed to provide your own horse power. Here are two other wagons from the same location as the post two days ago.

Wagon from Utah
This is at Capitol Reef National Park, UT. This park is a little out of the way and less congested from some of the other National Parks. Beautiful red rocks and great hiking.

Wheel from the past
This is a view of the frontier town that is at Lion's Park. The sidewalk in front of the old town store fronts makes a great bike riding path with few walkers and dogs.

Lower Antelope Canyon, Page, AZ
Looks like a flying eagle. This was taken in Lower Antelope Canyon which allows photographers to take a tripod in for two hours. It was less crowded and lots of stairs. In the Upper Canyon you are not allowed to take a tripod unless you are on a photo tour which was up to $90 when I was there. My fee in the lower was $25. You do need an SLR for the permit and not just a point and shoot.

Aspens framing a peaceful road
This was a nice surprise when downloading recent Cheyenne photos. Found these on a SD card that had not been downloaded and was in the formated folder. Remember that elephant? This was taken on a day trip to Silver Jack lake from Blue Mesa, CO last summer. Looking at the other photos, they have that tourist light and over cast skys that does not help landscapes. And they are ASPENS!
And with Trump's historic win last night, I feel that we will soon be on the way to restoring America as we once knew it.

Time...Illusive time
This is post 300 and posting each day (when I have wifi) has sometimes been a challenging learning curve. I am not sorry that I committed to it, and have learned photography technics that I would not have bothered with otherwise. This is a table top and before starting this 365 project I had no appreciation for and preferred landscapes and outside stuff (still do). Tabletops can be very time consuming with getting the lighting and composition so it works. And boring. With this one I leaned how to remove the highlight and light reflection. No easy task with glass. Please notice almost NO glare.
But for me this photo symbolizes more than just a photo of clocks. It's the time that slips through my "fingers" as the day moves too fast to accomplish all that I wanted to do, should do or required to do. I am struggling with not enough time- or time that didn't accomplish what it should have. This project is time consuming, but not the only thing that is eating up my days.
I had not planned the 300th post to be on this historic election day - it just happened. It will be nice to be "past" the election, but I know which ever way it goes, it is not the end of it! I just hope that America as we know it does not disappear. God Bless America and may the country that our founding fathers created, survive.
Stormy Green River Overlook
With the storm clouds off in the distance, this suits the way I feel about the highest/crooked, cops (FBI, DOJ) in America. Heavy heart today-am I seeing Americas downfall?.
And this was taken in Utah, waiting for an awesome sunset that never arrived.

Another beautiful granddaughter
This is Kelsie that was in town from Univ. of Wyoming to vote for the first time. Yes, she has her head on straight in-spite of liberal professors. It was great to have a few hours of her precious time to do an annual photograph. Our fall leaves were gone, so we tried a couple of new places. The top one is in an alley downtown. Didn't stay long-- as the trash next to us was smelly. The other location in this group was the church that I posted a few days ago.

Mesa Arch
This is a location that photographers put on their bucket list. I have shot this arch several times, and with this location sunrise and no clouds are the key ingredients to get a good photo. I usually stay at Horseshoe Campground which makes the drive shorter than staying in the Moab area.

Pizza - Pizza
This should make you smile in these troubled times. News is depressing on how our government has become SO CORRUPT.
ANYWAY, these two parrots are each eating pizza, yip, PIZZA! The one is eyeballing his friends share. This was taken at Bath Nursery a few years ago when they had an event and bought in a lot of birds and their owners.

Roosevelt Lake
Here is another great camping location in AZ. This is down the road from the campground where the WINs stayed.

Bells in the tower
Here are a few of the bells in the tower at St. Marks Episcopal church that are located in the top of the tower. This church was built in 1886 and is rumored to be haunted by a Swedish stone mason that died while building the tower and his body was never removed. The bells can now be rung by the organ inside but we were also able to pull a bell to ring it.
Below is the bell tower and the bells are behind the red slates. To get to the top we had to first go to the basement, then climb up a very narrow circular stairway in the section on the right of this tower. We climbed about 3 stories before getting to the section where the small window is; We then climbed another narrow steep stairway up to a room where the bells are.
Churches would compete to have the tallest bell tower and this is not the tallest one in Cheyenne, just the most haunted. Nope didn't see any ghost.
