Bells in the tower
Here are a few of the bells in the tower at St. Marks Episcopal church that are located in the top of the tower. This church was built in 1886 and is rumored to be haunted by a Swedish stone mason that died while building the tower and his body was never removed. The bells can now be rung by the organ inside but we were also able to pull a bell to ring it.
Below is the bell tower and the bells are behind the red slates. To get to the top we had to first go to the basement, then climb up a very narrow circular stairway in the section on the right of this tower. We climbed about 3 stories before getting to the section where the small window is; We then climbed another narrow steep stairway up to a room where the bells are.
Churches would compete to have the tallest bell tower and this is not the tallest one in Cheyenne, just the most haunted. Nope didn't see any ghost.
